高橋らを遣わして（正成を）討たせたが、敗軍して帰った。七月、宇都宮公綱が六波羅の旨を受けて、正成と合戦した。

[Troops including] Takahashi and others were dispatched to attack [Masashige], but they were defeated and returned. In the seventh month, Utsunomiya Kinntsuna, acting on orders from Rokuhara, engaged Masashige in battle.
In the eighth month, Akamatsu Enshin built a fortress at Kokenawa in Banshū (Harima Province) and joined the side of the retired Emperor. Masashige built the fortress at Chihaya and shut himself up within it. In the ninth month, Takatoki mobilized a great army with his clansman Ōbutsu Sadanao, Aso Tokiharu, and Nikaidō Dōun as commanders, and sent them up to the capital. In the tenth month, Dainagon Minamoto no Michiteru was appointed Naidaijin (Minister of the Center). In the eleventh month, Imadegawa Udaijin (Minister of the Right) Kanetsue was appointed Daijō-daijin (Grand Minister of State).
In the second year [of Shōkyō, 1333], in the first month, the great Kantō forces divided and attacked the fortress at Yoshino where Prince Moriyoshi was entrenched, the fortress at Chihaya where Masashige was entrenched, and the fortress at Akasaka where Masashige's retainers were holding out.
