Nagasaki Takashige was the grandson of Enki, and was an outstanding warrior who fought repeatedly, but exhausted his strength and committed suicide. Takatoki also committed suicide at Tōshō-ji Temple. This was on the twenty-second day. Hōjō Shigétoki, being the incumbent regent (shikken) and deputy, committed suicide in the main hall at Kamakura. The kinsmen of Kanazawa Sadaaki (Nyūdō) and Tokiwa Noriada, as well as the retainers of Jō no Enmyō and Nagasaki Enki and others, all committed suicide. In the same month, the Shogun Morікuni shaved his head (took Buddhist vows) at the age of thirty-three. (Interlinear note: He passed away in July of the same year.) Takatoki's eldest son Kunitoki was captured and killed. His second son Tokiyuki fled to Shinano Province. Eshō fled to Ōshū (Mutsu Province).
