現代語訳
祀られた。今の外宮がこれである。同年、丹波国の水江浦島子という者が、舟に乗って釣りに出て、大きな亀を得た。亀が化けて女となって、浦島と夫婦となり、共に蓬莱山に至ったと言い伝えられている。天皇は在位二十三年にして崩御した。歳は六十二。初めは政治が荒々しかったが、後には静かになって国家が治まった。

was enshrined. This is the present Outer Shrine (Gekū). In the same year, a man called Mizunoe no Urashima no Ko from Tanba Province went out fishing in a boat and caught a large turtle. The turtle transformed into a woman, became husband and wife with Urashima, and together they went to Mount Hōrai, according to legend. The emperor reigned for twenty-three years and then died at the age of sixty-two. Initially his government was harsh, but later it became peaceful and the nation was well governed.

Emperor Seinei was the son of Yūryaku. His mother was called Katsuragi no Karahime, daughter of Minister En. Seinei's younger brother was called Prince Hoshikawa. After Yūryaku's death, encouraged by his mother Kibi no Wakahime, he attempted to usurp the throne. Ōtomo no Moriya no Ōmuraji, Yamato no Aya no Tsuka no Atai and others killed Prince Hoshikawa along with Wakahime, and Seinei ascended to the throne.
