(建武)二年(1335)二月、二条左府・道平が薨去した。享年四十九歳。鷹司の右府・冬教を左府に任じた。洞院の前内府・公賢を右府に任じた。吉田の定房が内府を辞した。一条の大納言・経通を内府に任じた。出雲国より竜馬が(朝廷に)献上された。
三月、中納言・藤房が遁世した。西園寺の大納言・公宗が、北条高時の弟・恵性と謀反を企てた。恵性は還俗して時興と名乗った。高時の子・時行は関東で兵を起こし、その一族・名越時兼は北国で兵を起こした。事が発覚して、公宗は誅殺された。
七月、時行が信濃から兵を起こして鎌倉を攻めた。直義は成良親王をお連れして鎌倉を脱出した。このとき(直義は)使者を遣わして護良親王を弑した。尊氏は勅命を奉じて時行(を討つべく……)

[Continued from the previous page] ...was appointed Minister of the Interior (Naidaijin). Takauji was appointed Sangi (Counselor of State). In the tenth month, the former Minister of the Left (Sadaijin) Fuyunori of the Kujō-Takatsukasa clan was reappointed as Minister of the Right (Udaijin).
In the second month of the second year [of Kenmu, 1335], the Minister of the Left (Sadaijin) of the Nijō clan, Michihira, passed away. He was forty-nine years of age. Fuyunori of the Takatsukasa clan, the Minister of the Right, was appointed Minister of the Left. The former Minister of the Interior (Naidaijin) Kinkata of the Tōin clan was appointed Minister of the Right. Sadafusa of the Yoshida clan resigned from the post of Minister of the Interior. Tsunemichi, Major Counselor (Dainagon) of the Ichijō clan, was appointed Minister of the Interior. A "dragon horse" was presented to the court from Izumo Province.
In the third month, Middle Counselor (Chūnagon) Fujifusa renounced the world (and entered religious life). The Major Counselor (Dainagon) Kinmune of the Saionji clan, together with Eishō, the younger brother of Hōjō Takatoki, conspired to raise a rebellion. Eishō returned to lay life and took the name Tokioki. Takatoki's son Tokiyuki raised troops in the Kantō, and his kinsman Namikoshi Tokikane raised troops in the northern provinces. When the plot was uncovered, Kinmune was executed.
In the seventh month, Tokiyuki marched from Shinano Province and attacked Kamakura. Tadayoshi, escorting Prince Nariyoshi (Narinaga), fled Kamakura. At this time, (Tadayoshi) dispatched a messenger and had Prince Moriyoshi (Morinaga) killed. Takauji, in response to an imperial edict, (set out to subjugate Tokiyuki...)
