（源具親が）内大臣に任じられた。今年、南朝は興国と改元した。
（興国）三年三月、出雲の塩冶判官高貞は、高師直の讒言によって誅された。四月、脇屋義助は南帝の勅を受けて南海へ赴き、四国を平定しようとした。五月、義助は伊予の国にて病死した。尊氏の大将・細川頼春が軍を起こし、義助に従う者どもを討ち平らげ、四国は平定された。七月、源具親が内大臣を辞した。二条大納言・良基が内府に任じられた。十二月、久我前右府・源長通が太政大臣に任じられた。今年、禅僧・疎石の勧めにより、尊氏・直義が天龍寺を建立した。疎石を開山とした。夢窓国師がこれである。
（興国）四年正月、二条入道関白・師忠が薨去した。享年八十九。良基の曾祖父である。

(Minamoto no Tomochika was appointed) Minister of the Center (Naidaijin). This year, the Southern Court changed its era name to Kōkoku.
In the third month of the third year (of Kōkoku), Shionoya (Enya) Hangan Takasada of Izumo was executed due to slanderous accusations by Kō no Moronao. In the fourth month, Wakiya Yoshisuke, having received an imperial edict from the Southern Emperor, proceeded to the southern seas to attempt the pacification of Shikoku. In the fifth month, Yoshisuke died of illness in Iyo Province. Hosokawa Yoriharu, a general under Takauji, raised an army, defeated those who had followed Yoshisuke, and Shikoku was pacified. In the seventh month, Minamoto no Tomochika resigned from the position of Naidaijin. Nijō Dainagon Yoshimoto was appointed Naifu (Naidaijin). In the twelfth month, the former Udaijin Koga, Minamoto no Nagatsu, was appointed Daijō-daijin (Grand Minister of State). This year, at the urging of the Zen monk Soseki, Takauji and Tadayoshi founded Tenryū-ji temple. Soseki was established as its founding abbot. He is the National Teacher Musō.
In the first month of the fourth year (of Kōkoku), the lay-monk former Regent Nijō Morotada passed away. He was eighty-nine years of age. He was the great-grandfather of Yoshimoto.
