影媛を武烈天皇が娶ろうとしたところ、真鳥の子である鮪臣がすでに影媛を妻にしていた。また真鳥の家に馬があり、武烈天皇がこれを求めたが献上しなかった。武烈天皇は怒って大伴金村に相談し、数千の兵を金村に与えて、まず鮪臣を殺し、真鳥をも攻め殺した。真鳥は武内宿禰の孫である。武烈天皇の即位後は、悪逆無道であった。大和の泊瀬の列城宮に居住して、あるときは妊娠した女の腹を裂いてその中を見、あるときは人の爪を抜いて山芋を掘らせ、あるときは人を木に登らせてその木を切り倒し、あるときは弓でこれを射落とした。あるときは人を池の樋に入れて、矛で突き殺し、あるときは女を裸にして板の上に座らせて、馬を牽いて踏ませた。その他、奢りを極め、酒色に耽った。人々は皆恐れて、憎まないということはなかった。在位八年にして崩御。子はなし。仁徳天皇の王孫はここに至って絶えた。

Kagehime, when Emperor Buretsu was about to marry her, Shibi no omi, the son of Matori, had already taken Kagehime as his wife. Also, there was a horse at Matori's house, and when Emperor Buretsu requested it, he did not offer it. Emperor Buretsu became angry and consulted with Otomo no Kanamura, giving Kanamura several thousand soldiers. First he killed Shibi no omi, then attacked and killed Matori as well. Matori was the grandson of Takeuchi no Sukune. After Emperor Buretsu's accession to the throne, he was tyrannical and immoral. Residing at Namuki Palace in Hatsuse, Yamato, sometimes he would cut open the bellies of pregnant women to see inside, sometimes he would pull out people's fingernails and make them dig yams, sometimes he would make people climb trees and then cut down the trees, sometimes he would shoot them down with a bow. Sometimes he would put people into pond sluices and stab them to death with spears, sometimes he would make women naked and have them sit on boards while horses were led to trample them. Besides this, he indulged in extreme luxury and was addicted to wine and women. All the people feared him, and there was none who did not hate him. He reigned for eight years and then died. He had no children. The royal lineage of Emperor Nintoku came to an end at this point.
