([Tenryūji was designated as the] first of the Five Mountains. Shōkokuji was second, and Kenninji was third. Tōfukuji was fourth, and Manjuji was fifth. As for the Five Mountains of Kamakura, Kenchōji was designated first, ranking immediately after Tenryūji. Engakuji was second. Jufukuji was third. Jōchiji was fourth. Jōmyōji was fifth. Although there had already been prior rulings on the rankings before this time, it was perhaps at this moment that they were definitively settled. The rank below the Five Mountains is called the Jissetsu (Ten Temples), and their rankings were also established at this time.
In the first month of Kākyō 1 (1387), the reigning Emperor, aged eleven, performed his coming-of-age ceremony (genpuku). The Regent Yoshimoto performed the cap-crowning ritual (kakan), and Yoshimitsu performed the hair-dressing ritual (rihatu). In the same month, Yoshimoto resigned from the position of Regent and also retired from the office of Grand Minister of State (Daijō-daijin).
