現代語訳
大覚寺に到着した。その儀式は行幸のようであった。同五日、南帝は三種の神器を禁中へ渡された。熙成王は太上天皇の尊号を賜り、後亀山院と号した。延元二年に後醍醐天皇が吉野へ入られてより、ここに至って五十六年にして、南北がはじめて一統した。しかしながら、南方の残党が、少々なお吉野の奥に残っていた者もあったという。
十二月、義満は左大臣に再任した。徳大寺実時が左府を辞したことによるものである。今年、朝鮮の使者が来て、隣好を修めることを請うた。義満はこれを許容した。
四年四月、後円融上皇が崩じた。享年三十六歳。泉涌寺にて葬礼が行われ、義満もお見送り申し上げた。八月、石清水の放生会に義満が参詣した。九月、義満は左大臣を辞して、伊勢太神宮へ参詣した。同年、斯波義将が再び管領に任じられた。

(The Southern Emperor) arrived at Daikakuji temple in Saga. The ceremony was conducted in the manner of an imperial procession. On the fifth day of the same month, the Southern Emperor transferred the Three Sacred Treasures to the imperial palace. King Hiroshige (Go-Kameyama) received the honorary title of Retired Emperor and came to be known as the Cloistered Emperor Go-Kameyama. From the second year of Engen, when Emperor Go-Daigo had entered Yoshino, fifty-six years had now passed, and for the first time the Northern and Southern Courts were unified. Nevertheless, it is said that a small number of Southern Court remnants still remained deep in the Yoshino mountains.
In the twelfth month, Yoshimitsu was reappointed as Minister of the Left, owing to Tokudaiji Sanetoki's resignation from that office. In the same year, an envoy from Korea came and requested the renewal of friendly relations. Yoshimitsu granted this request.
In the fourth year (1392), fourth month, the Retired Emperor Go-Enyū passed away at the age of thirty-six. A funeral was held at Sennyūji temple, and Yoshimitsu also attended to pay his respects. In the eighth month, Yoshimitsu made a pilgrimage to the Iwashimizu Hachimangū for the Hōjōe ceremony. In the ninth month, Yoshimitsu resigned as Minister of the Left and made a pilgrimage to the Grand Shrine of Ise. In the same year, Shiba Yoshimasa was appointed Kanrei once again.
