現代語訳
島に遷し、金刺宮に住まわれた。この時、三韓に乱があって、新羅・高麗の二つになり、百済・任那を攻めた。日本より百済・任那を救った。日本の使者である膳臣巴提使という者が百済へ赴いた。道中で雪に遭い、海辺に一泊した。その携えていた小児を虎が食い殺した。巴提使は怒って、その足跡を尋ね、山中に入った。虎が口を開いて進み来る。巴提使は左の手で虎の舌を握り、右の手に刀を取って、虎を刺し殺し、その皮を剥ぎ取って帰朝した。
天皇の治世十三年にあたって、百済王が使者を献じ、釈迦仏の像並びに幡・天蓋並びに仏経を献上した。天皇は悦ばれた。大臣稲目はこれを拝したまえと勧めた。物部尾輿等が申したことには、「本朝は神国なれば、天皇の拝したまう神が多い。どうして異国の神を拝することができようか。恐らくは本朝の神が」
