ノ怒（イカリ）ヲイタスへシ。此ニヨリテ天皇拝セズ。其 像（ザウ）ヲ稲目ニ

現代語訳
の怒りを招くであろう。このため天皇は拝されず、その像を稲目に与えられた。稲目は悦んで拝受した。その家を捨てて寺とし、向原寺と号して仏像を安置した。これが日本へ仏法が渡って伽藍を作った初めである。幾程もなく諸国に疾病が流行したので、尾輿等がこれは仏の災いであると申したため、仏像を難波の堀江へ捨て、寺を焼いた。その後また再興された。また百済国より、五経博士、易博士、暦博士、医博士、並びに薬を知る者を献上した。沙門も十余人奉った。高麗・新羅は、ややもすれば日本に背くため、大伴狭手彦を高麗へ遣わしてこれを攻めさせた。狭手彦は進んで王宮まで攻め入った。高麗王はわずかに免れて逃げ去った。その宝物を取って天皇に献じ、また大臣稲目に贈った。新羅へ遣わされた官軍の中に、伊企儺という者があった。

They also sent more than ten Buddhist monks. Since Goguryeo and Silla frequently rebelled against Japan, Ōtomo no Sadetiko was sent to Goguryeo to attack them. Sadetiko advanced and attacked all the way to the royal palace. The Goguryeo king barely escaped and fled. He took the treasures and presented them to the Emperor, and also gave some to Minister Iname. Among the government troops sent to Silla, there was someone called Ikina.
