二月、持基は相国（摂政）を辞した。三月、復辟して関白となった。四月、義教は自筆で応神・神功縁起を書き、河内の誉田八幡宮に納めた。六月、大明（中国・明）の宣宗皇帝が義教に書簡を寄せ、「日本国王源義教」と記した。八月、義教は大将（征夷大将軍）を辞した。十月、後小松法皇が崩御された。御年五十七歳。
永享六年五月、唐船が来朝した。
永享七年四月、鷹司大納言房平が内大臣に任じられた。八月、山門（延暦寺）の強訴（嗷訴）の事があり、日吉の神輿が動座した。義教は武士をして叡山を攻めさせた。
永享八年、信濃国の守護小笠原政康と、同国の武士村上某との間に確執があり、合戦に及んだ。村上は加勢を鎌倉（鎌倉府）に請い求めた。

In the second month, Mochimoto resigned as Chancellor (Shōkoku/Regent). In the third month, he was restored to office and became Kampaku (Imperial Regent for an adult Emperor). In the fourth month, Yoshinori wrote in his own hand the founding legend (engi) of Ōjin and Jingū and presented it to the Konda Hachimangū shrine in Kawachi Province. In the sixth month, the Xuanzong Emperor of Ming China sent a letter to Yoshinori, addressing him as "Minamoto no Yoshinori, King of Japan." In the eighth month, Yoshinori resigned as Great General (Sei-i Taishōgun). In the tenth month, the Retired Emperor Go-Komatsu, now a Buddhist monk (Hōō), passed away at the age of fifty-seven.
In the sixth year of Eikyō [1434], fifth month, a Tang (Chinese) vessel came to pay court.
In the seventh year of Eikyō [1435], fourth month, Takatsukasa Dainagon Fusahira was appointed to the position of Naidaijin (Minister of the Center). In the eighth month, there was an incident of forceful remonstration (gōso) by the Sanmon (Enryakuji temple), and the divine palanquin (mikoshi) of Hiyoshi Shrine was moved in procession. Yoshinori dispatched warriors to attack Mount Hiei (Eizan).
In the eighth year of Eikyō [1436], there arose a conflict between Ogasawara Masayasu, the Military Governor (shugo) of Shinano Province, and a certain Murakami, a warrior of the same province, which led to armed battle. Murakami sought reinforcements from Kamakura (the Kamakura府).
