（憲実は鎌倉を）立ち退いて、諸国へ行脚し、後には長門・周防の辺りに徘徊していたと伝わる。

In the sixth month, Yoshinori sought to divide the domains of Akamatsu Mitsusuke, the lay monk known as Shōgu — namely Bizen, Harima, and Mimasaka Provinces — and grant them to a member of the Akamatsu clan, Akamatsu Izumi-no-kami Sadamura. Mitsusuke's son, Hikojirō Noriyasu, learned of this and informed Mitsusuke. Mitsusuke harbored deep resentment. On the twenty-fourth day of that month, Yoshinori made a visit to Mitsusuke's residence, where he watched a sarugaku performance and a banquet was held. At this time, Mitsusuke's kinsman, Samanosuke, and Noriyasu conspired together, and in the midst of the sarugaku performance and banquet, they released the horses from the stables, and amid the ensuing commotion, closed the gates. Noriyasu and Samanosuke then stepped forward, approached Yoshinori, and each seized one of his hands. While Yoshinori was thus startled and restrained, a retainer of the Akamatsu clan named Azumi came from behind and struck off his lordship's head. The entire assembly fell into great uproar.
