In the eighth month, Tōin Udaijin (Minister of the Right) Sanehiro was appointed to the position of Sadaijin (Minister of the Left). Ichijō Naidaijin (Inner Minister) Norifusa was appointed Udaijin (Minister of the Right). Konoe Dainagon (Major Counselor) Motomoto was appointed Naidaijin (Inner Minister). Yoshimasa concurrently assumed the post of Udaishō (Commander of the Right Gate Guards).
In the first month of Kōshō 2 (1456), Yoshimasa became the superintendent (Gokan) of the Bureau of Horses (Maryō). In the third month, Yoshimasa made a pilgrimage to Iwashimizu (Hachimangū Shrine).
