（二条政）嗣は左府を辞した。三月、九条政基が左府に転じ、鷹司政平が右府に任ぜられた。近衛大納言政家は内府に任ぜられた。四月、義尚は正四位下に叙された。八月、義政は遣唐船を大明に遣わした。この頃、大明への使者はみな禅僧であった。九月、義尚は参議に任ぜられた。中将はもとの通りであった。十月、義尚は読書始めを行った。この人は学問を好み、和歌・弓馬にも心がけられた。
八年（文明八年・1476）正月、義尚は従三位に叙された。五月、二条政嗣が関白を辞した。九条政基が関白に任ぜられて左府を辞した。日野前内府勝光が左府に任ぜられた。勝光は、義尚の母・富子の兄である。それゆえ、清華家の出でないにもかかわらず昇進したのである。六月、勝光は左府を辞した。八月、鷹司政平が左府に任ぜられ、近衛政家が右府に転じ、三条大納言・藤原公敦が内府に任ぜられた。

[Nijō Masa]tsugu resigned from the post of Minister of the Left [Sadaijin]. In the third month, Kujō Motonori was transferred to the post of Minister of the Left, and Takatsukasa Masahira was appointed Minister of the Right [Udaijin]. The Major Counsellor [Dainagon] Konoe Masaie was appointed Minister of the Center [Naidaijin].
In the fourth month, Yoshihisa was appointed to the Senior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade. In the eighth month, Yoshimasa dispatched an envoy ship to Great Ming. Around this time, all envoys sent to Great Ming were Zen monks. In the ninth month, Yoshihisa was appointed to the Council of State [Sangi], while retaining his post as Middle Captain [Chūjō] as before. In the tenth month, Yoshihisa performed the ceremonial first reading [yomihajime]. This person was fond of learning, and also devoted himself to the composition of waka poetry and the martial arts of archery and horsemanship.
In the eighth year [of Bunmei, 1476], in the first month, Yoshihisa was appointed to the Junior Third Rank. In the fifth month, Nijō Masatsugu resigned from the post of Regent [Kanpaku]. Kujō Motonori was appointed Regent, whereupon he resigned from the post of Minister of the Left. Hino, the former Minister of the Center, Katsumitsu, was appointed Minister of the Left. Katsumitsu was the elder brother of Tomiko, the mother of Yoshihisa. It was for this reason that he rose to prominence despite not being of a Seiga house. In the sixth month, Katsumitsu resigned from the post of Minister of the Left. In the eighth month, Takatsukasa Masahira was appointed Minister of the Left, Konoe Masaie was transferred to the post of Minister of the Right, and the Major Counsellor of Sanjō, Fujiwara no Kimiatsushi, was appointed Minister of the Center.
