現代語訳
は非常に親しかった。やがて天皇が崩御された。守屋はひそかに天皇の弟である穴穂部皇子を立てようとした。馬子は従わず、穴穂部皇子を殺した。ついに厩戸皇子、並びに諸皇子たちを説得し、軍を起こして守屋を攻めた。守屋は抵抗して戦い、三度勝利した。その後、跡見赤檮という者の矢が守屋に当たって死んだ。その一族は皆滅亡した。厩戸皇子は初めて摂津国に四天王寺を建立した。守屋を討つ時に祈念したためである。守屋の領地一万町を分けて赤檮に与え、その他は皆四天王寺の領地とした。厩戸皇子は聖徳太子のことである。その誕生の時、母が厩の辺りで安らかに出産したため、厩戸という。用明天皇が愛して内裏の上の宮に置いたため、上宮太子とも言う。生まれつき聡明で賢いため、聖徳太子という。また八人が同時に奏上する

Finally, he persuaded Prince Umayado and the other princes, raised an army, and attacked Moriya. Moriya resisted and fought, winning three times. Afterwards, an arrow from a man called Atomi no Ichihi struck and killed Moriya. His entire clan perished. Prince Umayado first built Shitennōji Temple in Settsu Province. This was because he had prayed when attacking Moriya. Moriya's domain of ten thousand chō was divided and given to Ichihi, while the rest all became temple lands of Shitennōji. Prince Umayado is Prince Shōtoku. At the time of his birth, his mother gave birth peacefully near a stable, hence he is called Umayado (stable door). Because Emperor Yōmei loved him and placed him in the upper palace of the imperial residence, he is also called Prince Jōgū (upper palace). Because he was born naturally intelligent and wise, he is called Prince Shōtoku. Also, when eight people made petitions simultaneously
