Yoshioki fought with great valor, and Masakata was slain in battle. Yoshitada [Yoshioki] encamped for a time at Mount Takao, and when the capital became peaceful, in the ninth month, Yoshitada [Yoshioki] returned to the capital and took up residence at Myōhonji temple, after which he entered the [Shōgunal] headquarters. In the ninth year [of Eishō, 1512], third month, Ōuchi no Suke Yoshioki was elevated to Junior Third Rank. This was in recognition of his meritorious service at the Battle of Funaoka-yama. In the tenth year [1513], third month, Yoshitada [Yoshioki] marched toward Ōmi Province, but his forces were defeated and he went into hiding in the Kōka mountains. In the fifth month, he returned to the capital and changed his name to Yoshitane. In the tenth month, Kujō Hisatsune resigned from his positions as Kanpaku [Imperial Regent] and Safu [Minister of the Left]. The former Minister of the Left of the Konoe family, Hisatōmi [Hisatō, i.e., Konoe Hisatō/Hisamichi], was reappointed as Kanpaku. In the eleventh year [1514], third month, the former Kanpaku Ichijō Fuyuyoshi passed away. He was fifty-one years of age. This man also followed in the scholarly traditions of his father Kaneyoshi [Kanera], and left behind a modest number of written works. In the eighth month, Konoe Hisatō [Hisamichi] became Daijō — [continued on next page]
