位料（即位の費用）を、一向宗（浄土真宗）の本願寺より調進した。この賞として、本願寺は代々門跡に准ぜられたと言われている。同月二十五日、将軍・源義植は京都を没落して、淡路国へ蟄居した。これを「島の公方」と号した。永正五年に将軍に再任されてより今年まで、十四年に及んだ。細川高国の計らいによって、法住院義澄の子・義晴が播州（播磨国）にいたのを迎えさせた。六月、義晴が入洛した。七月、三条実香が左府（左大臣）を辞した。二条関白・尹房が左府に転じた。大炊御門経名は、内府（内大臣）より右府（右大臣）に遷った。徳大寺大納言・公胤が内府に任じられた。同月、源義晴は従五位下に叙せられた。十一月、義晴は五位下に叙し、左馬頭に任じられた。十二月、義晴が元服した。歳は十一。細川武蔵守高国が加冠の役を務めた。同月、義植の官職を停めて、義晴が征夷大将軍に任じられた。高国は管領となった。（高国は）剃髪して道永と号した。また後に常桓と改めた。

The expenses for the imperial enthronement ceremony [*i-ryō*] were provided by the Honganji of the Ikkōshū [Jōdo Shinshū, the True Pure Land Sect]. As a reward for this, it is said that the Honganji was henceforth granted status equivalent to that of a monzeki [an imperially-connected temple] for generations to come. On the twenty-fifth day of the same month, the Shōgun Minamoto no Yoshitane fled the capital of Kyoto and withdrew to Awaji Province. He was referred to as the "Shima no Kubō" [the Lord of the Island]. From the time of his reappointment as Shōgun in the fifth year of Eishō [1508] until this year, fourteen years had passed. Through the efforts of Hosokawa Takakuni, Yoshiharu, the son of Hōjūin Yoshizumi, who had been residing in Banshū [Harima Province], was summoned [to the capital]. In the sixth month, Yoshiharu entered the capital. In the seventh month, Sanjō Sanehika resigned as Safu [Minister of the Left]. The Regent of the Nijō clan, Tatsufusa, was transferred to the position of Safu. Ōinomikado Tsunenao was moved from Naifu [Minister of the Center] to Ufu [Minister of the Right]. Tokudaiji Dainagon Kintane was appointed Naifu. In the same month, Minamoto no Yoshiharu was granted the rank of Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade [Jūgoi-ge]. In the eleventh month, Yoshiharu was granted the Fifth Rank, Lower Grade, and appointed Samanonkami [Head of the Left Stables]. In the twelfth month, Yoshiharu underwent his coming-of-age ceremony [genpuku], being eleven years of age. Hosokawa Musashi no Kami Takakuni performed the role of officiating the cap-placing ceremony [kakkan]. In the same month, Yoshitane was stripped of his official posts, and Yoshiharu was appointed Sei-i Taishōgun [Generalissimo Who Subdues the Barbarians]. Takakuni became Kanrei [Deputy Shōgun]. [Takakuni] shaved his head and took the Buddhist name Dōei. He later changed this to Jōkan.
