（前ページより続き）しようとしたため、義晴・義藤は北白川の城に籠もった。四月、晴元は四国の軍勢を率いて東山に陣を敷き、北白河の辺りに放火して摂津国へ引き上げた。七月、晴元が入洛し、相国寺に陣を置いた。佐々木弾正・定頼は晴元の舅であったため、近江国の兵を催し、北白河の城を囲んだ。義晴・義藤は城に火を放って坂本へ赴いた。晴元・定頼はともにその罪を赦免され、坂本へ参上して謝罪した。
天文十七年（1548年）六月、義晴・義藤が帰洛した。晴元は管領であり続けた。十二月、一条房通が関白を辞した。二条左大臣晴良が関白となった。この年、大内義隆が従二位に叙せられた。

[Continued from previous page] —intending to do so, Yoshiharu and Yoshiteru [Yoshifuyu] took refuge in the castle at Kitashirakawa. In the fourth month, Harumoto led the forces of Shikoku, encamped at Higashiyama, set fire to the area around Kitashirakawa, and withdrew to Settsu Province. In the seventh month, Harumoto entered the capital and set up camp at Shōkokuji temple. Sasaki Danjō Sadayori, being Harumoto's father-in-law, mustered the soldiers of Ōmi Province and surrounded the castle at Kitashirakawa. Yoshiharu and Yoshiteru set fire to the castle and made their way to Sakamoto. Harumoto and Sadayori were both pardoned for their offenses and went to Sakamoto to offer their apologies.
In the sixth month of Tenbun 17 [1548], Yoshiharu and Yoshiteru returned to the capital. Harumoto remained as Kanrei [Deputy Shogun]. In the twelfth month, Ichijō Fusамichi resigned as Kampaku [Imperial Regent]. Nijō Sadaijin [Minister of the Left] Haruyoshi became Kampaku. In this same year, Ōuchi Yoshitaka was granted the court rank of Junior Second Rank (Jūnii).
In the third month of Tenbun 18 [1549], a dispute arose in Settsu Province between Miyoshi Chikuzen-no-Kami Nagayoshi [Chōkei] and Miyoshi Sōzan. As Hosokawa Harumoto favored Sōzan exclusively, Nagayoshi grew furious and attacked and destroyed the castle at Nakajima where Sōzan resided. Sōzan retreated into Enami Castle.
