In the ninth month of the third year of Kōji (1557), Regent Konoe Sakihide resigned from the position of Sadaijin. Saionji Kintomo was appointed Sadaijin. Kazanin Iesuke, who held the position of Naidaijin, was appointed Udaijin. Hirohashi Dainagon Kanehide was appointed Naidaijin, but immediately took Buddhist vows.
