現代語訳
日、中大兄は倉山田麻呂に語って言った。「三韓が貢物を奉る日に、必ずお前に、その表状を読ませるであろう。その時入鹿を斬るべき謀略を告げられた。倉山田麻呂は同心した。この月十二日、天皇は大極殿にお出ましになった。鎌足は、入鹿が心に人を疑い、昼夜剣を持つことを知って、わざおきの者に教えて、たばかって剣を解かせた。入鹿は笑って剣を置き、御前の座に列した。わざおきは、今の狂言をする者の類である。倉山田は進んで三韓の文を読んだ。ここに中大兄は衛士らを戒めて、十二の御門を閉じ、人の往来を止め、衛士を一箇所に召し集めて、禄物を賜わるという謀略の沙汰があった。さて中大兄は、自ら長い戈を取って、御殿の脇に隠れ、鎌足は弓矢を取って守った。勝麻呂という者に、箱を持たせて、子麻呂・綱田の

On that day, Prince Naka no Ōe spoke to Kurayamada Maro, saying: "On the day when the Three Han [kingdoms of Korea] present their tribute, you will surely be made to read their memorial. At that time, the plot to kill Iruka was revealed." Kurayamada Maro agreed to the plan. On the twelfth day of this month, the Emperor appeared in the Daigokuden (Great Audience Hall). Kamatari, knowing that Iruka was suspicious of people in his heart and carried a sword day and night, instructed a wazaoki performer to trick him into removing his sword. Iruka laughed and set aside his sword, taking his place among the seats before the throne. Wazaoki are similar to those who perform kyōgen today.
