一筆申し上げます。秋も涼しくなった季節
でございますが、皆様方におかれましてはますますお元気で
お勤めになられていることと存じ、誠に喜ばしく思っております。さて、当
町の松田屋六郎右衛門が昨年中に中沢山
から伐り出しました松木材木の尺角廻木の本数についての
証文一通を御役所へ提出するということで、
私のところへ持参いたしました。すぐに調印し、
六郎右衛門へお渡し申しました。よろしくお取り計らい
くださいますようお願い申し上げます。恐縮ながら謹んで申し上げます。

I respectfully write to you. Though it is the season of
autumn coolness, I trust that you are all in good health
and carrying out your duties well, which I find most gratifying. Regarding
Matsudaya Rokuroemon of this town, who last year cut timber
from Nakazawa mountain - pine lumber measured in square sun units -
he brought a certificate of the number of logs to submit to the government office
to my place. I immediately affixed my seal and
handed it to Rokuroemon. Please handle this matter appropriately.
I humbly and respectfully submit this.
