現代語訳
## 十二天
**地天（ぢてん）**
仏性三昧耶戒を授ける際には、十二天の屏風を立て、その降臨の姿を表す。
**月天（がってん）**
『珠林』に言う：「月天子には五百の光があり、一つは下を照らし、五百の光があり、一つは傍らに向かい行きて照らす。それゆえ月天を『千光明』と名づけ、また『涼冷光明』とも名づける。」
**毘沙門天（びしゃもんてん）**
毘沙門を引いて、欲の鉤をもって仏道に入らしめるという意味である。
毘沙門に言う：「破戒の僧をも守護すべし」という誓約の意味である。
**風天（ふうてん）**
赤肉色で、杖と幡を持つ。
**水天（すいてん）**
（涅槃羅私 ※私注）
青色で、九頭の龍の形をしている。
**羅刹天（らせつてん）**
赤肉色で、棒を持つ。

## The Twelve Heavenly Deities (Jūniten)
**Earth Deity (Jiten)**
When conferring the Busshō-sanmayakai (Buddha-nature Samaya precepts), a folding screen depicting the Twelve Heavenly Deities is erected to represent their descending manifestation.
**Moon Deity (Gatten)**
The *Zhulin* [Pearl Grove] states: "The Moon Deity possesses five hundred rays of light directed downward to illuminate [the earth], and five hundred rays of light that travel sideways to illuminate. For this reason, the Moon Deity is named 'Thousand-Ray Brilliance' (Senkōmyō), and is also called 'Cool and Refreshing Brilliance' (Ryōrei Kōmyō)."
**Bishamonten (Vaiśravaṇa)**
[The name] Bishamon is understood as drawing [beings] with the hook of desire and leading them into the Buddhist path.
It is also said of Bishamon: it carries the vow to protect even monks who have broken their precepts.
**Wind Deity (Fūten)**
Depicted in reddish-flesh color, holding a staff and a banner.
**Water Deity (Suiten)**

**Rākṣasa Deity (Rasetsuten)**
