難陀 ここでは歓喜龍王と翻訳して呼ばれる。その時に応じて雨を降らし、五穀を成就させ、歓喜をもたらすからである。（兄）
掌悪童子
跋難陀 ここでも歓喜龍王と呼ばれる。この兄弟は仏法を守護する。釈迦誕生の時、難陀と跋難陀の二龍が虚空にあって湯水を吹き出し、温湯を沸かして奉ったのである。（弟）

Upananda: Here also called "Joyful Dragon King." These brothers protect the Buddhist Dharma. At the time of Shakyamuni Buddha's birth, the two dragons Nanda and Upananda were in the sky and spouted hot and cold water, heating warm water in service. (Younger brother)
