**Upananda** (Younger Brother)
In Chinese translation, he is called "Zen-Kangiryu-ō" (the Dragon King of Good Joy). These two brothers protect the Buddhist Law (Dharma). At the time of Śākyamuni's birth, the two dragons Nanda and Upananda, dwelling in the sky, blew forth warm water and drew the birth-bathing water (ubuyu) to bathe the newborn.
