現代語訳
**天人（てんにん）**
（天人の）楽（たのしみ）というのは、頭上の華鬘（けまん）は四季を通じてしおれることなく、羽衣は常に垢（あか）がつくことなく、常に汗をかかず、常に目をまたたきせず（とされている）。その命が終わる時には、楽（たのしみ）が尽きて、五衰（ごすい）の悲しみに遭うのである。

**迦陵頻伽（かりょうびんが）**
また「竭羅頻伽（きゃろびんが）」とも（いう）。（漢字に）翻訳して「妙声鳥（みょうせいちょう）」、また「好音鳥（こうおんちょう）」とも云える。

**偓佺仙人（あくせんせんにん）**
『列仙伝（れっせんでん）』に云う。偓佺（あくせん）は松の実を尭（ぎょう）に贈った。（尭は）それを服用する暇がなかったが、当時の人々でそれを受け取って服用した者は、皆、二・三百歳に至ったという。

**赤松子仙人（せきしょうしせんにん）**
『神仙伝（しんせんでん）』に云う。黄初平（こうしょへい）は年十五の時、山中にあって羊を牧（か）っていた。ある道士がいて、その目を見て彼を異（あや）しんで（非凡と見て）、すぐに連れて金華山（きんかざん）に至り、止まること四十余年。自ら「松子（しょうし）」と号した。

**Tennin (天人, Heavenly Beings)**
The "pleasures" of the tennin are as follows: the floral garlands (keman) upon their heads never wither through the four seasons; their feathered robes never become soiled; they never perspire; and they never blink their eyes. But when the time of their death arrives, these pleasures all fade away, and they fall into the sorrow of the "Five Signs of Decay" (gosui).

Also known as "Kyarobinga" (竭羅頻伽). Translated into Chinese characters as *Myōsei-chō* (妙声鳥, "Bird of Wondrous Voice"), and also called *Kōon-chō* (好音鳥, "Bird of Beautiful Sound").

**Akusen Sennin (偓佺仙人, The Immortal Akusen)**
The *Ressenден* (*Liexian zhuan*, 列仙傳, *Biographies of Exemplary Immortals*) states: Akusen presented pine seeds to Emperor Yao (尭). Yao had no time to consume them himself, but the people of that time who received and consumed the seeds all lived to be two or three hundred years old.

**Sekishōshi Sennin (赤松子仙人, The Immortal Sekishōshi)**
The *Shinsen-den* (*Shenxian zhuan*, 神仙傳, *Biographies of Divine Immortals*) states: Kō Shōhei (黄初平, Huang Chūping) was fifteen years old when he was in the mountains herding sheep. A Daoist master, noticing something extraordinary in his eyes, immediately took him to Mount Kinkazan (金華山), where he remained for over forty years. He came to call himself "Shōshi" (松子, "Master Pine").
