現代語訳
【右上】
■中品中生
中品中生とは、諸戒を受持する者である。弥陀と比丘が蓮華を持して修行者の前の空中に現れ、声あって「諸仏の教えに随順するが故に、我は汝を迎えに来て、かの国に往生させん」と言う。

■中品下生
中品下生とは、臨終に善知識に遇い、その者が阿弥陀仏の国土の楽事を讃説する者である。また法蔵比丘の四十八願を説き、これを聞き終わって腕を屈伸するほどの短い間に、即座に極楽世界に生まれる。

■下品上生
下品上生とは、衆悪業を作り、命終わろうとする時に善知識に遇い、大乗を讃え、智者がまた「南無阿弥陀仏」と称えることを教える者である。修行者は即座に化仏を見て宝池に生まれる。

下品中生とは、破戒の僧で自ら荘厳し、臨終の時に善知識に遇い、念仏により火が風に変わり、諸天華を吹いて化仏・菩薩が迎接し、この人は即座に往生を得る者である。

【Upper Right】
■Middle Grade, Middle Birth
Those of the middle grade, middle birth are those who uphold various precepts. Amida and monks appear in the sky before the practitioner, holding lotus flowers, and a voice says: "Because you follow the teachings of the buddhas, I have come to welcome you and enable your birth in that land."
【Lower Right】
■Middle Grade, Inferior Birth
Those of the middle grade, inferior birth are those who, at the time of death, encounter a good spiritual friend who praises and explains the blissful aspects of Amida Buddha's land. They also explain the forty-eight vows of Dharmākara Bodhisattva, and upon hearing this, in the time it takes to bend and extend an arm, they are immediately born in the Land of Ultimate Bliss.

■Lower Grade, Superior Birth
Those of the lower grade, superior birth are those who have committed various evil karma and, when their life is about to end, encounter a good spiritual friend who praises the Mahayana, and a wise person who teaches them to recite "Namo Amida Butsu." The practitioner immediately sees transformation buddhas and is born in the jeweled pond.

■Lower Grade, Middle Birth
Those of the lower grade, middle birth are monks who have broken precepts and adorned themselves. At the time of death, they encounter a good spiritual friend, and through mindfulness of Buddha, fire transforms into wind, blowing celestial flowers, and transformation buddhas and bodhisattvas come to welcome them. This person immediately attains rebirth.
