■山越如来
伝え聞くところによれば、叡山横川の峰の上に弥陀の尊容が現れなさった時、源信僧都はこれを拝み、すぐに素絹の御袖にその姿を図し留めなさった。詳しくは横川の慧心院にその写しなさった絵像（并びに縁起あり）がある。

■多宝如来
法華経に云う、「遠い過去、東方の無量千万億阿僧祇の世界に国があり、宝浄と名づく。その中に仏あり、名づけて多宝と曰う。」

■金剛界の大日
金剛界は、毘盧遮那仏の仏果の智より起こる。金剛とはこれ菩提界の性である。大日経果宝抄に云う、「毘盧遮那仏とはこれ日の別名にして、即ち暗を除き遍く明らかなるの義である。」

■ Yamagoe Nyorai (The Mountain-Crossing Tathāgata)
As transmitted, when the venerable form of Amida appeared on the ridge of Yokawa on Mount Hiei, the Monk Genshin (Eshin Sōzu) reverently beheld it and immediately drew and preserved the image on the sleeve of plain silk. For full details, the painted image he copied (along with its engi/origin story) can be found at the Eshin-in in Yokawa.

■ Tahō Nyorai (Prabhūtaratna Tathāgata)
The Lotus Sūtra states: "In the distant past, in a world of immeasurable tens of millions of billions of asaṃkhyeya worlds to the east, there was a land called Hōjō (Viśuddha). Within it there was a Buddha, whose name was called Tahō (Prabhūtaratna, 'Many Treasures')."

■ Dainichi (Mahāvairocana) of the Kongōkai (Diamond Realm)
The Kongōkai (Vajradhātu) arises from the wisdom of the Buddha-fruit of Vairocana. "Kongō (vajra)" signifies the nature of the realm of bodhi (enlightenment). The *Dainichi-kyō Kabushō* states: "Vairocana Buddha is another name for the sun; it carries the meaning of dispelling darkness and illuminating all things universally."

■ Dainichi (Mahāvairocana) of the Taizōkai (Womb Realm)
In Sanskrit, this is called Vairocana; in Chinese/Japanese it is rendered as "Saikō Kenkō Ganzō Nyorai" (Tathāgata of the Highest, Manifest, Vast, Eye-Treasury). The Taizōkai (Garbhadhātu) arises from the realm of the afflictions and desires of sentient beings, and employs the wisdom-seal of the Tathāgata.
