【右上】
■日照王菩薩（につせうわうぼさつ）
智慧の日光をもって衆生の迷いの暗闇を照らし破り給うゆえに、智徳によって名を得給えり。
『華厳経』に曰く、「慧日は世間を照らし、生死の雲を消除す」と。
【右下】
■衆宝王菩薩（しゆほうわうぼさつ）
「衆」は「もろもろ」と読む。「宝」は「珍なり」と訓じて「たから」と読む。「王」は自在の義である。ゆえに「もろもろの宝の王」という意味である。「宝」とは七種の珍宝（七宝）のことであり、また七種の王の宝でもある。これに限らず、一切の宝を合わせて名とし給えり。

■月光王菩薩（ぐわつくわうわうぼさつ）
この世界における月輪の三徳などの優れた徳義を、この菩薩が具足し給うがゆえに、直ちにその名号に現じて名乗り給う。

■三昧菩薩（さんまいぼさつ）
諸々の三昧の中において自在を得給うゆえに、この名を名乗り給う。その三昧とは、正しくは「三摩地」と云い、これを漢訳すれば「正定（しょうじょう）」と翻し、「正心行処（しょうしんぎょうしょ）」と訳す。

■Nisshōō Bodhisattva (日照王菩薩 — King of Solar Illumination)
With the sunlight of wisdom, this bodhisattva illuminates and dispels the darkness of sentient beings' delusion. Thus, the name is derived from this virtue of wisdom.
The *Avataṃsaka Sūtra* (Huayan jing) states: "The sun of wisdom illuminates the world and dissolves the clouds of birth-and-death."

■Shūhōō Bodhisattva (衆宝王菩薩 — King of Manifold Treasures)
"Shū" (衆) is read as *moromoro* (many, manifold). "Hō" (宝) is glossed as "precious" and read as *takara* (treasure). "Ō" (王) carries the meaning of sovereign freedom (jizai). Thus, the meaning is "the king of manifold treasures." "Treasure" here refers to the seven precious gems (the Seven Treasures), as well as the seven types of kingly treasures. Not limited to these, all treasures are combined to form this bodhisattva's name.

■Gakkōō Bodhisattva (月光王菩薩 — King of Moonlight)
The virtues of the moon-disc of this world — its threefold virtues and other qualities of excellence — are fully possessed by this bodhisattva. Therefore, these qualities are directly expressed in and embodied by the bodhisattva's name and title.

■Zanmai Bodhisattva (三昧菩薩 — Samādhi)
Because this bodhisattva attains perfect freedom within all the various samādhis, this name is taken. The word *zanmai* (三昧) is properly written *sanmaji* (三摩地, samādhi in Sanskrit), which is rendered into Chinese as *shōjō* (正定, right concentration) and translated as *shōshin-gyōsho* (正心行処, the place where the mind is rightly directed in practice).
