■日照王菩薩
知恵の日光をもって衆生の迷いの暗闇を照らし破り給うが故に、智徳によって名を得給う。『華厳経』に曰く「恵日世間を照らし、生死の雲を消除す」。

■月光王菩薩
この世界の月輪の三徳等の徳義に超勝したる所を、この菩薩は具足し給うが故に、直接に名号に現して名乗り給う。

■衆宝王菩薩
衆は「もろもろ」と読む。宝は「珍なり」と訓じて「たから」と読む。王は自在の義である。故に衆（もろもろ）の宝（たから）の王という心である。宝とは七種珍宝、七種王宝である。これに限らず一切宝を合わせて名とし給う。

諸三昧の中において自在を得給う故に名乗り給う。その三昧とは正しくは「三摩地」という。これを正定と翻訳し、正心行処と訳す。

**Nitsushō-ō Bodhisattva (Sun-Illumination King Bodhisattva)**
With the sunlight of wisdom, this bodhisattva illuminates and destroys the dark confusion of sentient beings, thus obtaining his name through his virtue of wisdom. The Avatamsaka Sutra states: "The sun of compassion illuminates the world and dispels the clouds of birth and death."
**Gakkō-ō Bodhisattva (Moonlight King Bodhisattva)**
This bodhisattva perfectly possesses the three virtues of the moon disk and other superior virtuous qualities of this world, hence he directly manifests and proclaims this name.
**Shuhō-ō Bodhisattva (Myriad Treasures King Bodhisattva)**
"Shu" (myriad) is read as "moromoro." "Hō" (treasure) is interpreted as "precious" and read as "takara." "Ō" (king) means sovereignty. Therefore, the meaning is "king of myriad treasures." The treasures refer to the seven kinds of precious treasures and the seven royal treasures. Not limited to these, all treasures are combined to form this name.
**Sanmai Bodhisattva (Samādhi Bodhisattva)**
This bodhisattva obtains sovereignty within all samādhis, hence proclaims this name. Samādhi is correctly called "sammaji" (三摩地). This is translated as "right concentration" and interpreted as "proper dwelling place of the mind."
