【下段】
本地は薬師である。いわゆる三世とは、貪瞋癡を名づけるものであり、この
三毒を降すことを降三世と名づける。左の足で自在天を踏むのは、煩悩
障を断つことを表している。

障は粗いゆえに男に喩えて強く踏み、所知障は細かいゆえに女に喩えて和らかに踏んでいる。

The original ground is Yakushi (Bhaiṣajyaguru). The so-called "three worlds" refers to greed, anger, and ignorance, and subduing these
three poisons is called "conquering the three worlds." Stepping on Maheśvara with the left foot represents
severing the afflictive hindrances.

hindrances are coarse, they are likened to the male and stepped on strongly; since cognitive hindrances are subtle, they are likened to the female and stepped on gently.

The original ground is Amida (Amitābha). In the Blue Dragon Commentary, it states that he subdues all evil poisonous dragons.
The Luminous Commentary says that Yamāntaka means his virtue surpasses all others,
and he strikes fear into all dragons.
