According to the Genkō era records, this is Izanagi-no-mikoto. In the first year of Yōrō, the priest Taichō climbed Mount Hakusan and was devotedly chanting sutras when suddenly a nine-headed great dragon appeared. This was said to be a skillful means manifestation, and at that time Eleven-faced Kanjizai Bosatsu appeared.

This is the foundation of Japan's foremost great spiritual site. Kumano Ichisho Gongen came from Korea to our country and flew to the source of the Otonashi River in Muro District, Kii Province, and to the royal treasure hall of Byōbu-ga-oka. The honji is Kannon (Avalokiteśvara).

Appeared in the fifth year of Emperor Kōrei's reign. Mount Fuji in Suruga Province is a peerless famous mountain among the three provinces. Its source shows the principle that the letter "A" emerges from emptiness, demonstrating the meaning of three meditations and one mind. The peak manifests perfect and sudden enlightenment, revealing the principle of the three mysteries as one body. Therefore, in the first year of Daidō under Emperor Heizei, the main shrine was established, and during the Engi era under Emperor Daigo, the Asama shrine was built. This is Ōmiya-jin. The honji is Dainichi (Mahāvairocana).
