重食（いやくひ）をすればやがて停食（ていしよく）となる斯（かく）するうちに
是も又／不熟化（ふじゆくくわ）の乳汁（ちゝ）と成（なり）て小児の腹中（ふくちう）ます〳〵
消化（せうくわ）せず青便（せいべん）などするやうになれば罪（つみ）を乳母（うば）
に負（おほ）せて水菜（みづな）をや喰（くひ）つらむ悪（あし）き物をや給（たべ）つら
む此頃（このごろ）痞（つかへ）の起（おこ）りたりとて食も少（すく）なかりしは外（ほか）
にて己（おの）が好（すけ）る物を喰（くひ）たるにこそ有らめなどいひて
共に乳母を云（いひ）おとすめり是大なる謬（あやまり）なり青便（せいべん）

無理に食事をすれば、すぐに食べ物が胃に滞留してしまう。このようにしているうちに、これもまた未消化の乳汁となって、小児の腹の中でますます消化されず、青い便などをするようになれば、罪を乳母に負わせて「水菜でも食べたのだろうか、悪いものでも食べたのだろうか。この頃つかえが起こったといって食事も少なかったのは、外で自分の好きな物を食べたからに違いない」などと言って、皆で乳母を悪く言うようだ。これは大きな間違いである。青い便が出るのは青い物を食べたせいではなく、小児の腹の中で消化しがたいからである。そもそもこの消化しがたいのは誰の過ちであろうか。父母の子を愛する深い愛情がそうさせるのである。
