道（みち）に候されば太上（たいしやう）は国（くに）を医（い）し其次（そのつぎ）は人を
医（い）すとも申候又は天下の良相（りやうしやう）とならずば必（かなら）ず
天下の良医（りやうい）とならむと申せし人も有之候
大小のかはりはあれども神明造化（しんめいさうくわ）の功（こう）を助（たすく）るは
一筋（ひとすじ）にて候然るに世移（ようつ）り時かはりて今は各（おの〳〵）
一家（いつか）の業（げう）となり官途（くわんと）の医（い）は禄（ろく）を世々（よゝ）にして

道であるから、「太上は国を医し、其の次は人を医す」とも申します。また「天下の良相とならずば必ず天下の良医とならん」と申した人もいます。
大小の違いはあれども、神明造化の功を助けるのは一筋のことです。然るに世が移り時が変わって、今は各々一家の業となり、官途の医は禄を世々にして、いつとなく業に怠り、民間の医は糊口に追われて、ただ薬を売ることを思う輩が多くいます。故に右のような戯言をも承ります。実に医道の衰廃です。しかしながら有難き御代の御恵みによって、
諸道がことごとく起こるにつきて、本邦上古の医書が追々現れ、既に『大同類寿方』『神遺方』『金蘭方』などと申す医方書は板本になりました。中でも『神遺方』は薬方のみならず、人身初生、身体腑臓の位置より治療の法に至るまで、古言で神代の説を伝えられて、最もめでたき書です。あまりに貴く覚えます故、この節学びがてらに注解いたし、取りかかっております。脱稿いたしましたならば御覧に入れましょう。追々古書も出ましたならば、中絶の医道が再び起こり、上古の神功空しからず、大己貴の神徳を受け持ち

way, so it is said "The highest heals the nation, the next heals people." There was also someone who said, "If one cannot become a good minister of the realm, one must certainly become a good physician of the realm."
Though there are differences in scale, assisting the work of divine creation is one single path. However, as the world has changed and times have shifted, now each has made it a family profession. Court physicians hold hereditary stipends and have gradually become negligent in their practice, while civilian physicians are driven by the need to make a living and many think only of selling medicine. Therefore, we hear such frivolous words as mentioned above. This is truly the decline and corruption of medical practice. However, through the blessed benevolence of this fortunate reign,
as all the various ways are being revived, medical texts from our nation's ancient past are gradually appearing. Already medical texts called "Daidō Ruiju-hō," "Shin'i-hō," and "Kinran-hō" have been published as printed books. Among them, "Shin'i-hō" contains not only medicinal formulas but transmits the teachings of the age of gods in ancient language, from the positions of the human body's organs at birth to methods of treatment—it is truly a most excellent work. I find it so precious that I am currently working on annotating and interpreting it while studying. When I complete the manuscript, I shall present it for your perusal. If ancient books continue to appear, the interrupted medical way will rise again, the divine achievements of antiquity will not be in vain, and we shall inherit the divine virtue of Ōnamuchi.
