現代語訳

【地分木】高さ五六丈、葉は穀樹のようで小さな白花が叢生し、冬月に開く。毒があり魚を薬殺することができる。

【月橘】樹高は丈余、細い葉は棗のようで、五六月に小さな白花を開き、甚だ芬烈で十里香と名づけられる。実を結ぶこと天竺子のようでやや大きく、二月中に紅色で纍纍として樹に満ちる。

【梯姑】樹高七八丈、大きなものは数囲を合わせる。葉は大きく柿のようで、毎葉は品字形に抽き対節に生ずる。四月初めの花は朱紅色で長さ尺二三寸、毎幹は直に抽き攢花数十朶、花葉は柴木の筆が燄を吐くようである。高麗種で太平山に出る。

【悉達慈姑】樹高は丈許、葉は桃に類し、子は葡萄の穂のように纍纍として深藍色、慈姑奶と名づけ食べることはできない。

花には梅・桃・杏・桂・木蘭・木蓮・水芙蓉・紅桜・雪毬・山茶・安石榴・杜鵑《注：杜鵑は十月に花を開き三月まで止む。花は絶大で中国所産のものより四倍大きい》・仏桑《注：千葉のものは大紅及び浅紅の二色あり。単葉のものは惟大紅一種のみ。中心の蘂は花弁の外一寸許り高く出て燭承盤状のようなので一名照殿紅という。四時皆花で六月が盛り》・山丹《注：これは中国より特に大きく、樹を成すものは長さ丈余のものがある。紅花四出で数十朶攅生し火のようで、千葉のものは重台で甚だ艶やか。五雅統注に云う「山丹・扶桑は同じく日本より出て始めて中国に入る」》・蘭《注：四時皆開く》・菊・茉莉・海棠・長春・水仙《注：十月の花》・剪秋羅・月季・薔薇・千日紅・銀台・金盞《注：即ち水仙》・杜若・菖蒲・百合・葵・鶏冠・萱・石竹・仙人掌・雁来紅・藤がある。

異産として名護蘭等がある。

英語訳

【Jibungi】Height five to six jō, leaves like cereals tree with small white flowers clustering, blooming in winter months. Poisonous and can be used to poison fish.

【Moon orange】Tree height over one jō, thin leaves like jujube, blooming small white flowers in fifth and sixth months, very fragrant and called "ten-ri incense." Bears fruit like Tianzhu seeds but somewhat larger, clustering red all over the tree in the second month.

【Teigo】Tree height seven to eight jō, large ones several armspans around. Leaves large like persimmon, each leaf extending in a "品" character shape, growing at opposite nodes. Early April flowers are vermillion, one to two to three sun long, each trunk directly extending with dozens of clustered flowers, the flower leaves like brushwood brushes spitting flames. Korean variety found on Mount Taiping.

【Shitta jigo】Tree height about one jō, leaves resemble peach, seeds cluster like grape bunches in deep blue color, called jigo milk, inedible.

Flowers include plum, peach, apricot, osmanthus, magnolia kobus, magnolia, water hibiscus, red cherry, snowball, camellia, pomegranate, azalea《Note: Azaleas bloom from October until March. The flowers are extremely large, four times larger than those produced in China》, hibiscus《Note: Double-flowered varieties come in two colors - deep red and light red. Single-flowered varieties are only deep red. The center stamens extend about one sun beyond the petals like a candle holder, hence also called "palace-illuminating red." Blooms in all seasons with peak in sixth month》, tiger lily《Note: These are particularly large compared to China, with tree-form specimens over one jō long. Red flowers extend in four directions with dozens clustering like fire, double varieties are layered and very gorgeous. The Wuya Tongzhu notes: "Tiger lily and hibiscus both originate from Japan and first entered China"》, orchid《Note: Blooms in all seasons》, chrysanthemum, jasmine, begonia, vinca, narcissus《Note: Tenth month flower》, lychnis, monthly rose, wild rose, globe amaranth, silver platform, golden cup《Note: i.e., narcissus》, day lily, iris, lily, hollyhock, cockscomb, daylily, dianthus, prickly pear, amaranth, and wisteria.
