現代語訳

獣には牛、馬、羊、豕（豚）、犬、猫、鹿、猿、山豚がいるが、虎、兎、獐はいない。《注：明一統志にはその土産として》《注：熊、羆、豺、狼がいると言うが、今考えるに皆これなし》

家畜には鶏、鴨、鵝がいる。珍しい家畜として太和鶏があり、普通の鶏に比べて特に小さく、短足長尾で、種は七島から出る。

鳥類には雀、烏、鴿、鷺、鷗、鳬、鵯、班鳩、緑鳩《注：十二月に来る》、野鳩、鶉、鴗《注：俗に神鳥と呼ぶ》、田鳥、雉、鶺鴒、杜鵑、鴛鴦、燕（七月に来るが人家には巣を作らない）、鷹（九月中に東北風によって外島から飄来する）がいる。雁は偶にいるが常には至らず、鶴も或いは一羽いることもあるが稀にしか見られない。珍しい鳥として古哈魯等がある。

【古哈魯】金黄の毛羽、長い觜、短い尾、四月に鳴く。
【麻石】翅羽は緑色、白い眉、九月に来る。また【伊石求子】は麻石に似る。
【烏鳳】一名王母鳥、四月に来る。
【恨煞】毛羽は鷹に似るが やや小さい、八月に来る。
【容蕋】翅は灰褐色、黒い頭、八月に来る。
【石求読】毛羽は雀に似る、十月に来て春になって鳴く。
【莫読吏】緑毛、十月に来る。

虫類には鼠、蝙蝠、蝎虎（雀のような声を出すことができ、冬夏ともにそうである）、蜥蜴（水池中に生息し、赤い腹で背に金光がある）がいる。また四脚の小青蛇がよく見られる。国中の蛇は最も毒があり、九月中に毎回出てきて人を傷つけ、人は立ちどころに斃れる。《注：前の使録には その蛇は人を傷つけないとあるが、そうではない》蚊

英語訳

Animals include cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, dogs, cats, deer, monkeys, and wild boars, but there are no tigers, rabbits, or roe deer.《Note: The Ming Yitongzhi states that local products》《Note: include bears, brown bears, jackals, and wolves, but upon current investigation, none of these exist》

Livestock includes chickens, ducks, and geese. Unusual livestock includes Taihe chickens, which are particularly small compared to ordinary chickens, with short legs and long tails; the breed originates from the Seven Islands.

Birds include sparrows, crows, pigeons, herons, gulls, wild ducks, bulbuls, spotted doves, green doves《Note: come in the 12th month》, wild doves, quails, and wagtails《Note: commonly called sacred birds》, field birds, pheasants, wagtails, cuckoos, mandarin ducks, and swallows (come in July but do not nest in human dwellings), hawks (blown in from outer islands by northeast winds in mid-September). Wild geese occasionally appear but do not come regularly; cranes may sometimes appear singly but are rarely seen. Unusual birds include koharu and others.

【Koharu】Golden-yellow plumage, long beak, short tail, sings in April.
【Maseki】Wing feathers are green with white eyebrows, comes in September. Also【Ishikyūshi】resembles maseki.
【Uhō】Also called Queen Mother Bird, comes in April.
【Konsatsu】Plumage resembles hawks but somewhat smaller, comes in August.
【Yōzui】Wings are grayish-brown, black head, comes in August.
【Sekikyūdoku】Plumage resembles sparrows, comes in October and sings in spring.
【Bakudokuri】Green plumage, comes in October.

Insects include mice, bats, gecko lizards (can make sounds like sparrows, both winter and summer), lizards (live in water pools, with red bellies and golden shine on their backs). There are also four-legged small green snakes commonly seen. Snakes in this country are extremely venomous; they emerge every September and injure people, causing immediate death.《Note: Previous envoy records state that these snakes do not harm people, but this is incorrect》Mosquitoes
