翻刻

　団扇以竹為骨繭紙糊之或青或白灑金作画有泥
　金五華者名玉団扇惟王宮中有之命婦或受賜始

現代語訳

団扇は竹を骨として繭紙を糊で貼り付けて作る。青いものや白いものがあり、金を散らして絵を描いたものもある。泥金五華を施したものは玉団扇と名付け、ただ王宮中にのみあり、命婦が賜与を受けて初めて使用することができる。

匠具

斧や鑿は皆中国のものに似ている。ただし鋸は純鉄で作られており、形は刀のようで下に柄を付け、歯を列ねて口端で使用する。

英語訳

Round fans are made with bamboo frames and covered with cocoon paper glued on. They come in blue or white, and some have gold sprinkled on them with painted designs. Those decorated with mud gold and five-flower patterns are called jade fans (gyoku-uchiwa), which exist only in the royal palace and can only be used by court ladies (meifu) after receiving them as imperial gifts.

Craftsmen's Tools

Axes and chisels are all similar to those of China. However, saws are made of pure iron, shaped like swords with handles attached at the bottom, with teeth arranged in rows and used at the blade end.
