他邦（たはう）へ去らざるやうに洛外（らくくはい）に留（と）めおけよとの 宣旨（せんじ）なれは召れ
候ても苦（くる）しかるましとて涼及（れうぎう ）を召てけるかやかて参殿（さんてん）して
拝診（はいしん）してそ暫（しはら）く思案（しあん）工夫（くふう）しけるが御 薬（くすり）を奉るなれども只今
こゝにては調（とゝの）ひ難（かた）く宿へ罷（まか）り帰（かへ）り候て御薬と又 別（へつ）に煉薬（ねりやく）やう
のものを奉るへし今日是を召上られなは明日は御 便通（へんつう）おはす

凉及へ仰せ遣はされて参殿（さんでん）致すへきの御 使（つかひ）なしりか凉及申には
かく御 快気（くわいき）おはせし上は参殿 事（つかふまつ）るには及ひ申さすとて終（つひ）に参殿

他国へ去らないように洛外に留めておけとの宣旨なので、召されても差し支えないだろう」として涼及を召したのである。やがて参殿して診察し、しばらく思案工夫したが、「お薬を差し上げますが、ただ今ここでは調合し難く、宿へ帰りまして、お薬とまた別に煉薬のようなものを差し上げましょう。今日これを召し上がりになれば、明日は御通便がございましょう。便器を別にお使いになってご覧になってください」と申し上げて帰った。その後から薬取りの使者を遣わされて、程なく使者が帰って来て、その薬を召し上がられたが、翌日果たして通便があってご覧になると、血の塊のような物が出て、「これは蜘蛛の毒が下って去ったのだ」とお喜びになった。

並々でなく、病気が洗い流されるように御平癒になって、早速その由を涼及へ仰せ遣わされて参殿するようにとの使者をなされたが、涼及は「このように御快気になられた上は、参殿して仕えるには及びません」として、ついに参殿しなかった。日に日にますます御全快になって、その後一ヶ月ほど経って御快気の御祝宴として涼及を召されて、その日第一の客であると仰せになって、二条右府公も同席され、山海の珍味種々の御馳走で、涼及へ御盃を賜って「汝は真の良医である。古の扁鵲も汝には及ばないだろう」と御褒賞があると、涼及は大いに笑い「そのようにおっしゃらないでください。他の典薬が聞いたら、何か陰で申すでしょう」とさらに笑っていたが、右府公の仰せには

The next day, there was indeed a bowel movement, and when examined, something like blood clots had passed, and he rejoiced, "This is the spider's poison that has been expelled."

The recovery was extraordinary - the illness seemed washed away as he was completely cured. He immediately sent word to Ryōkyū and dispatched a messenger asking him to come to the palace, but Ryōkyū said, "Now that you have recovered so well, there is no need for me to come to the palace to serve," and he never came to the palace. Day by day he became increasingly healthy, and after about a month had passed, Ryōkyū was summoned for a celebratory feast for the recovery. He was told he was the day's honored guest, and Lord Nijō Ufu was also present. With elaborate preparations of delicacies from land and sea, a cup was bestowed upon Ryōkyū with the words, "You are a true excellent physician. Even the ancient Bian Que could not match you." At this praise, Ryōkyū laughed heartily and said, "Please do not say such things. If the other court physicians hear this, they will surely speak ill of me privately," and continued laughing.
