其方儀卯年より同町文十郎方二
店奉公いたし実体二相勤
縦後元之家番方不勝手二
相成右文十郎茂長く相煩
候處病中候実儀二介抱
致し畢竟父之申付を
聊も不背家内睦しく
商売励候由相聞候二付
以前茂鳥目被下候處
其後も添家内和合致し
実体二商売致し候段相
聞候寄極相成二付猶又為
御称美鳥目被下候
御仁恵之処右尓弁猶又

現代語訳
横町
鳥目六百文 作次
その方は卯年より同町の文十郎方で店の奉公をし、誠実に勤めていた。その後、元の家の家計が苦しくなり、右の文十郎も長く病気を患っていたところ、病中の世話を誠実に介抱し、結局父の指示に少しも背かず、家内睦まじく商売に励んでいるとのことを聞いた。以前にも鳥目を下賜したところ、その後も家内和合し、誠実に商売をしているとのことを聞いている。非常に感心することなので、なお賞賛のために鳥目を下賜する。この御仁恵に報いるよう、なお一層励むものである。

You have been serving as a shop apprentice at Bunjuro's establishment in the same town since the Year of the Rabbit, working faithfully. Later, when your original household finances became difficult and the aforementioned Bunjuro fell seriously ill for a long time, you sincerely cared for him during his illness. Ultimately, you never went against your father's instructions, maintained harmony in the household, and worked diligently in business, as we have heard. Previously, coins were granted to you, and since then we have heard that you continue to maintain household harmony and conduct business faithfully. As this is extremely commendable, coins are once again granted in recognition of your praiseworthy conduct. In appreciation of this benevolent favor, you shall continue to work even more diligently.
