現代語訳
江戸表において清山源右衛門殿
この度御年寄役に
任命される。もっとも同名の者が
いる場合は早速改名すべきである。
右の趣旨を町中へ触れ知らせること。以上
子四月
右四月十五日御書下げとして出て、同役中へ
見回り司として下其町町代が願い出て相渡すよう
触れ知らせ、座元並びに穢多どもへも申し渡した。

右の者について、この度御勝手方御用の
町仕送り勤めを見習いとして申し付ける。
これにより帯刀を許可する。元締中の
指図を得て、御用向きを勤めるべき者なり。
六月二十七日
右の趣旨について御沙汰により御奉行様より
仰せ渡された。それより元締方へ御引き渡しとなり、
町仕送りの月番として朝昼回り勤めを行っている。
こちらの役勤めの場は町仕である。

The above was issued as an official directive on the fifteenth day of the fourth month, and it was announced to fellow officials that the town representative of Shimosono-machi should petition and deliver this as an inspector. It was also conveyed to the za-moto (guild heads) and eta (outcasts).

Regarding the above person, he is hereby appointed as an apprentice
for town messenger duties in the financial office (okatte-kata).
Therefore, he is permitted to wear swords. He shall serve
in official duties under the guidance of the head supervisors.
Twenty-seventh day of the sixth month
Regarding the above matter, it was announced by the magistrate (bugyō)
by official order. Subsequently, he was transferred to the head supervisor's office,
and he performs morning and afternoon patrol duties as monthly duty officer for town messengers.
The place of duty for this role is town service.
