嘉永六年癸丑年
紀伊一位様が先月二十七日にご逝去されたことに付き、普請工事は同日より、鳴物・音曲は七日間停止するよう仰せ出されました。明日三日まで鳴物・音曲を慎み、火の元には特に入念に気を付けるよう申し付けます。
右の趣旨を町中へ触れ渡すこと。以上

Kaei 6, Year of the Water Ox (1853)
Due to the passing of His Excellency Kii no Ichi-i on the 27th day of last month, construction work is to cease from that same day, and musical performances and entertainment are to be suspended for seven days as has been proclaimed. Until tomorrow the 3rd day, refrain from musical performances and entertainment, and take particular care with fire prevention.
The above matter shall be proclaimed throughout the town districts. The above.
