玉虫のつやをうはひ古画を辱て。車に
向ふ蟷螂の鎌かりて蚯蚓の土を穿ち。その
さひはつをたゝさんと棒ふりのふりよき
図に。くらき初心蛍の光りに此道をてらし。蜘の
巣の糸口をとけと諸君の狂哥合にたより。
彫巧藤一宗か刀は。桜木にものして其起を
ことわりせよと乞ふにまかせて

けふなんはつき十四日の夜野辺？に
すたく虫の声きかんと例のたはれたる
友とちかたみにひきゐて両国の北
よしはらの東鯉ひさく庵さきのほとり

虫のねたんつけのたかきひくきを
さためんとす故ありて酒と妓とを
いましめたれはわきめよりはしはむしの
ゑんとやいふへきなにかしの寺の

現代語訳
玉虫の艶を奪い、古画を辱めて。車に
向かう蟷螂の鎌を借りて、蚯蚓が土を穿つように。その
細部をただ讃えようと、棒振りの振る舞いのよい
図に。暗い初心者も蛍の光でこの道を照らし、蜘蛛の
巣の糸口を解けと、諸君の狂歌合に頼って。
彫刻の巧みな藤一宗の刀は、桜木に物して、その起こりを
説明せよと請うのに任せて

決めようとする。故あって酒と妓女を
慎んだので、脇目も振らず虫の
宴とでも言うべきか、何某の寺の
鐘の音が虫の音に混じって、ほのかに
