現代語訳
理兵衛は生まれた子を理太郎と名付けて育てたが、良い魂が日々付き添って守っていたので、生来従順で礼儀正しく、行儀が良く、その上利発で、他の子供たちとは違っていた。そのため両親は生涯の宝物のように愛おしんで育てた。「三つ子の魂百まで」と言われるように頼もしく見えた。

英語訳
Rihei named his newborn child Ritaro and raised him. Since a good soul watched over and protected him day by day, the child was naturally obedient and well-mannered, with good behavior.
