此度世上通用之ため南鐐上銀を以壱朱銀吹立
被 仰付候間右壱朱銀十六を以金壱両之積

之ため被 仰付候間無滞可致通用候尤通用
同様等之義は可致沙汰候
右之趣国々江も可知触もの也

嘉永六年癸丑年七月二十六日にお達しがあった件
去る二十二日に
将軍様がご逝去になったため、建設工事や音楽・祭りなどを停止する
ことになったので、厳重に慎み、火の元などに特に注意するように
右の趣旨を町中に触れ回ること 以上

この度世間の流通のため、南鐐上銀をもって一朱銀を鋳造する
よう命じられたので、右の一朱銀十六枚をもって金一両の計算とする
もちろん銀貨・銭貨ともに両替は一分銀と同様の割合で理解し、取り交わして
通用させること。右の南鐐一朱銀については金貨と同様に通用
させるため命じられたので、滞りなく通用させること。もちろん通用
同様などの件については沙汰すること
右の趣旨を諸国にも知らせ触れ回るものである

Proclamation issued on the 26th day of the 7th month of Kaei 6, Year of the Water Ox (1853):
On the past 22nd day,
His Excellency the Shogun passed away, therefore construction work and music/festivals are suspended.
During this period, exercise strict restraint and pay particular attention to fire prevention and other matters.
The above directive shall be announced throughout the town.

For the sake of circulation in society, it has been ordered that one-shu silver coins be minted using high-quality nanryo silver.
Sixteen of these one-shu silver coins shall be calculated as equivalent to one ryo of gold.
Naturally, both silver coins and copper coins should be exchanged at the same rate as one-bu silver, and should be used in transactions accordingly.
These nanryo one-shu silver coins have been ordered to circulate in the same manner as gold coins, so they should be put into circulation without delay. Naturally, matters concerning circulation and similar issues shall be deliberated upon.
The above directive shall be made known and announced to all provinces.
