天保之渡世之通用之ため新規判金吹立壱枚ニ付金五両

【右丁】
天保年間の商売のための通用として、新規に判金を鋳造し、1枚につき金5両として通用することが仰せ出されました。銀銭とも両替については、小判1歩判2朱金と同様の割合で心得て、滞りなく通用するよう触れ置きましたが、この1枚につき5両の通貨であるため、価格の取り扱いが不便であるのか、世間での通用が稀であるとお聞きになりました。
そうであれば通貨としての意味がなく、当初のご趣旨に反することになるため、当寅年10月まで銀貨の通用を停止します。所持している者は江戸・京都・大坂その他遠国在郷とも、現在吹き直し金の引き替え御用を務めている者たちのうちから、早々に差し出して引き替えを申し出てください。
右の趣旨を触れ回すべきこと。

古金銀真字2歩判、古2朱銀、文政度の文字金銀草字2歩判、2朱銀、古1朱銀とも通用停止の分について、当寅年10月まで引き替えるよう去る丑年に触れましたが、今でも引き替えていないものが多くあるため、引き替え所の件について、なお来る卯年10月までこれまでの通り設置しておきます。諸事については先達て触れた通りに心得て、右の期限を限りとして引き替えを申し出てください。
一 5両判通用の件について、当寅年10月を限りとして通用停止の分については先達て触れましたが、すべて引き替えた残りもまだ多少あるため、来る卯年10月までこれまでの通り据え置きます。しかしその後は必ず通用停止とします。所持している者は早々に差し出して引き替えを申し出てください。
右の通り、御料は御代官、私領は領主・地頭から入念に申し付けるべきこと。

For the purpose of commerce during the Tenpō era, new judkin coins have been newly minted and ordered to circulate at the rate of 5 ryō of gold per piece. It was proclaimed that silver coins should also be exchanged at the same rate as koban, ichibu-ban, and nishu-kin without delay. However, since this currency is valued at 5 ryō per piece, it seems inconvenient for price transactions, and it has been heard that its circulation in society is rare.
If this is the case, there would be no point in having this currency, and it would go against the original intent. Therefore, the circulation of silver currency will be suspended until October of this year of the Tiger. Those who possess them should promptly present them to those currently engaged in the recoining and exchange service in Edo, Kyoto, Osaka, and other distant provinces and rural areas for exchange.
The above matter should be proclaimed.

Regarding the suspension of circulation of old gold and silver coins including genuine character nishu-ban, old nishu silver, Bunsei-era character gold and silver cursive character nishu-ban, nishu silver, and old isshu silver, it was proclaimed in the previous year of the Ox that they should be exchanged by October of this year of the Tiger. However, since many still remain unexchanged, the exchange locations will continue to operate as before until October of the coming year of the Rabbit. All matters should be understood as previously proclaimed, and exchanges should be made within the specified time limit.
1. Regarding the circulation of goryō-ban, although it was previously proclaimed that circulation would cease as of October of this year of the Tiger, since there are still some remaining even after complete exchange, they will be left as before until October of the coming year of the Rabbit. However, after that time, circulation will definitely cease. Those who possess them should promptly present them for exchange.
