**Register of Children's Festival Practice Activities — Town Administrations, Domain Offices, and Magistrate Offices**
**Submitted Statement (Issatsu)**
Item: Concerning the report that, in connection with the Mita Hachiman festival, [children] had made horo (decorative hoods), kasa (umbrellas/canopies), and hoko (halberds/floats), and had carried these through neighboring towns or returned [borrowed items], thereby causing a conspicuous spectacle and gathering crowds — in response to the official inquiry made on this matter, [we state as follows]:
The neighborhood of Sakashita-chō is not within the parishioner community (ujiko) of Mita Hachiman Shrine. The children had gathered together, imitated the yaккo (manservant) procession, carried a single paper banner (kami-nobori), and walked only within the neighborhood; they did not extend their procession into neighboring areas. The foregoing is stated without the slightest falsehood. Respectfully submitted.
