訴訟を起こすつもりで掛け合ったところ、同村の善兵衛・甚三郎・中村柳助の三人が仲裁に入り、内済で熟談いたしました。その上で石屋組合の目付である非持村三郎兵衛殿、片倉村甚五右衛門殿に、今後仲間六軒がうまく生業を営めるよう規定書を作成していただき、和解いたしました。ところが、やむを得ない事情で三郎兵衛が右の規定に背き、このような有様では生業が成り立たず、極めて難渋いたしております。また恐れを顧みず願い上げ奉ります。
一つ、去る天保十五年辰年中、右の治兵衛は諸々の支払いに差し支え、荒町村の仲八並びに私が請人となり、家主長右衛門という者から金十八両を借用し、諸勘定の済み方をいたしましたが、その他に米代金三両余りの滞りがございます。これもやむを得ず私が日延べをいたしておきましたところ、その後なお臨時の入用に差し支え、金二両余りを貸し取り持ちいたしましたが、治兵衛が抱えている職人等が年々

When we approached them intending to file a lawsuit, three men from the same village - Zenbei, Jinzaburo, and Ryusuke from Nakamura - mediated, and we reached an amicable settlement through thorough discussion. Furthermore, the stone quarry guild supervisors, Sabrobei-dono from Himochi Village and Jingoemon-dono from Katakura Village, prepared regulatory documents so that the six member households could conduct business smoothly in the future, and we reached reconciliation. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, Sabrobei violated these regulations, and under such conditions our livelihood cannot be sustained, causing us extreme hardship.
