私は老衰いたしましたが、男子がおりませんので、山田茂左衛門様のご支配所である赤須村の源兵衛の弟である杢兵衛と申す者と内縁関係もございますので、養子にして跡継ぎとして相続させたく、内々に相談いたしましたので、ここにお願い申し上げます。
右の趣旨につき、ご慈悲をもってお願い申し上げます通りお命じくださいますならば、ありがたい仕合わせと存じます。以上

As I have grown old and infirm and have no male heir, I have an informal relationship with a man named Mokubei, the younger brother of Genbei from Akasu village under the jurisdiction of Yamada Mozaemon-sama. Therefore, I wish to adopt him as my heir for succession, and have privately consulted about this matter, so I humbly submit this petition.
Regarding the above matter, if you would graciously grant my petition as requested, it would be most gratefully received.
