現代語訳
【政子姫】
私の病気はあなたを恋い慕ってのこと。お灸を三升まで据えたのも、あなたへの真心と思うばかり。あなたの心が冷たければ、いくらお灸を据えたとしても、恋の病が治るでしょうか。
【頼朝】
お心遣いは有り難く存じますが、時政様にお聞かせしては、お身のおためになりますまい。とくお放しなられませ。
【本文】
腰元の関屋は、人のいない折を見計らって、艾屋の息子を御居間へ連れて来て姫君に会わせ申し上げ、その身は気を利かせてその場を外し、御次へ行く。
北条時政は様子を立ち聞きし、諺の通りに娘と小袋には油断も隙もないものではないが、知れる限りでは、あの者は源氏の正統な佳き友が三男の頼朝と聞き及べば、婿に取っても不足はない。

The lady-in-waiting Sekiya, watching for a moment when no one was around, brought the son of the moxa merchant to the princess's chamber and had him meet the princess. She then tactfully withdrew from the scene and went to the antechamber.
Hōjō Tokimasa overheard the situation. As the saying goes, "One cannot be too careful with daughters and small purses," but from what he could gather, this man was Yoritomo, the third son of the legitimate Minamoto lineage's Yoshitomo, and as a son-in-law, he would not be lacking.
