北国順礼唄方便
自叙
舞姫（まひこ）に仏千手（ほとけぜんじゆ）あり。遊女（ゆうしよ）に如意（によゐ）小観音（こくわんおん）あり。《振り仮名：宝積｜むろ□み》の
長普賢（てうふげん）と現（げん）じ。高津（たかつ）の地獄（ぢごく）一休（いつきう）をなじる。三界無菴（さんがいむあん）
の年（ねん）の内（うち）は。三蔵（さんざう）法様（ほうし）の旅（たび）にも似（に）るべく。難行苦行（なんきやうくぎやう）の夜々（よな〳〵）
は。悉陀太子（しつたたいし）の昔（むかし）に等（ひと）し実相無漏（じつさうむろ）の閨中（とこのうち）。五塵（こちん）六（ろく）
欲（よく）の屏風（びやうふ）を飛越（とびこ）し。煩悩（ぼんのう）菩提（ぼだい）の順礼歌（しゆんれいうた）は廼（すなはち）作者（さくしや）
の大方使（だいほうべん）。凡夫（ぼんぶ）の耳（みゝ）をかつぽぢり。予（よ）が百番（ばん）の説法（せつほう）も
只（たゞ）絵（ゑ）一つの教訓（きやうくん）と悟（さと）るべし。

自序
舞姫には仏の千手観音がいらっしゃる。遊女には如意小観音がいらっしゃる。宝積（むろみ）の長普賢菩薩として現れ、高津の地獄では一休禅師が（迷いを）問い詰める。三界に住処なき年月の間は、三蔵法師の旅路にも似ているであろう。難行苦行の夜な夜なは、悉陀太子（釈迦の前身）の昔と等しい。真実の姿である無漏の寝所において、五塵六欲の屏風を飛び越し、煩悩と菩提の巡礼歌は、すなわち作者の大いなる方便である。凡夫の耳を開かせ、私の百番の説法も、ただ絵一つの教訓として悟るべきである。

Songs of Convenience for Northern Province Pilgrimage

Among dancing girls there is the Thousand-Armed Buddha (Kannon). Among courtesans there is the Nyoi Ko-Kannon. Manifesting as the Long Fugen of Hōshaku (Muromi), and in the hell of Takatsu, Ikkyū chastises (the deluded). During the years of having no dwelling in the three realms, it must resemble the journey of the Tripitaka Master. The nights of austere practices and painful disciplines are equal to the ancient times of Prince Siddhartha. In the bedchamber of true reality without defilement, leaping over the folding screens of the five dusts and six desires, the pilgrimage songs of earthly passions and enlightenment are precisely the author's great skillful means. Opening the ears of ordinary people, my hundred sermons should also be understood as the moral teaching of just one picture.
