諸国酒造之儀酒造
人は勿論休株之者
其外是迄渡世不
仕ものニ而も勝手次第
可致酒造旨文化三
寅年相触候処右寅年
ゟ相始候休株并渡世
不致は酒造之儀は
追而及沙汰候迄急度
無用たるへく候
右之趣御料私領寺
社領共ニ不洩様早々
可触知者也

文政十二年己丑年
正月
全国の酒造について、酒造業者はもちろん、休業中の株主や、その他これまで商売をしていなかった者でも、都合次第で酒造を行ってよいという趣旨を文化三年寅年に触れ出したところ、右寅年から始まった休業株および商売をしていない者の酒造については、追って沙汰があるまで厳重に禁止すべきである。
右の趣旨を御料地・私領・寺社領ともに漏れのないよう早々に触れ知らせるものである。

First month
Regarding sake brewing in all provinces: while it was proclaimed in Bunka 3, Year of the Tiger, that sake brewing could be conducted at will not only by sake brewers but also by holders of dormant licenses and others who had not previously engaged in such business, the sake brewing by holders of dormant licenses and those not engaged in business that began from the said Tiger year shall be strictly prohibited until further notice.
The above directive shall be promptly communicated without omission to shogunal domains, private domains, and temple and shrine lands alike.
