撃壌（つちうつ）もろ人らたはれ哥（うた）のたゝえことを
そへたれは文（ふん）はます〳〵右伝（みぎてん）の一 章（しゃう）一 句（く）の
かたきをやはらげ武（ぶ）はいよ〳〵左（ひだり）きゝの
たのみある中（なか）の酒宴（しゆえん）かな将（はた）その画（え）の工（たくみ）なる
巨勢（こせ）のかなをかも爪（つめ）をくはえ其（その）こと葉の
をかしき方朔（ほうさく）艾子（かいし）も頤（おとがひ）を解（とく）べしよりて
児桜（ちござくら）に寿（いのちながに）して青柳（あをやぎ）のめをよろこばしめんと
緑橋（みどりばし）のほとりにすめる耕書堂（こうしよとう）のすゝめ
いなみがたくその紙（かみ）の田（た）に芸（くさぎる）てふ万象（まんさう）
亭（てい）にもゆづらまほしきを硯（すゞり）の水（みづ）のかけ
ひきなくやかてものゝふの八十氏川（やそうぢかは）と

現代語訳
撃壌の楽しみを多くの人々が戯れ歌の賛美の言葉に添えたので、文はますます右手の一章一句の固さを和らげ、武はいよいよ左利きの頼もしさがある中での酒宴であることよ。まことにその絵の巧みなことは、巨勢の金岡も爪を噛んで驚くであろうし、その言葉の面白さは方朔や艾子も顎を解いて笑うであろう。よって児桜に長寿を祈り、青柳の芽を喜ばせようと、緑橋のほとりに住む耕書堂が勧めるのを
断りがたく、その紙の田に草を刈るという万象亭にも譲りたいのだが、硯の水の流れが絶えることなく、やがて武士の八十氏川と書き流すこととなった。

The many people added words of praise for playful songs to the joy of the Gekijō era, so literature increasingly softened the rigidity of each chapter and verse of the right hand, while military arts became ever more reliable like the left hand in the midst of banquets. Truly, the skill of these paintings would make even Kose no Kanaoka bite his nails in amazement, and the wit of the words would make even Fangshuo and Kaishi loosen their jaws in laughter. Therefore, praying for longevity to the child cherry blossoms and wanting to bring joy to the green willow buds, Kōshodō, who lives by the Green Bridge, recommended this, and
it was difficult to refuse. Though I would like to yield this to Banshōtei, who "cuts grass in the paper fields," the flow of water from the inkstone does not cease, and thus it came to pass that I wrote about the warriors' "Eighty Uji River."
