現代語訳
大天狗は金を出した男に返事をし、万吉と二人で吉原へ行った。持てることは限りなく、見せびらかしたので、家中の遊女がみな来て、うるさいほどに取り巻いた。■■などはより取りで十九文という仕掛けである。
【遊女たちの台詞】
「加藤を語ってお聞かせください、何し。あなたの連れ衆のような醜い、嫌な人はみなおりません。鼻もない顔で、あの高慢さというものは、しみじみ嫌ですよ。加藤が嫌なら、メリヤスをお引きなさい、何し。拝みます。」
【本文続き】
万吉の相手の遊女は床をしたたかに欲しがり、隣ではもう起きて騒ぐ時分になって、ようやく来たけれども、床にも入らず、夜明け前にようやく背中合わせに寝たのは、歌ったからであった。
万吉はしたたかに床を欲しがられて、隣の大騒ぎを聞けば、みな我を悪く言うので、いまいましく思うけれども仕方なく、（鼻を）下ろされる度ごとに鼻はいよいよ低くなって、ついには生まれた時の通りの鼻となった。
英語訳

【Main text continues】
The courtesan who was Mankichi's partner strongly desired to go to bed, and when it was already time for the neighbors to wake up and make noise, he finally came, but didn't even enter the bed. Just before dawn, they finally lay down back-to-back because he had been singing.
Mankichi was strongly pressured to go to bed, and hearing the great commotion next door where everyone spoke ill of him, he felt irritated but could do nothing about it. Each time his nose was lowered, it became increasingly flat, and finally returned to the same nose he had when he was born.
